Meet the Owners

Hi, my name is Denise and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist based in Sacramento, Ca. I am the owner and clinical director at Dynamic Dysphagia Solutions, providing endoscopic swallow studies to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Hospitals in the Greater Sacramento and Northern California regions. 

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and my Master's degree in Speech Pathology at Sacramento State University. I completed my clinical internship at UC Davis Medical Center, went on to gain years of experience at California Pacific Medical Center and UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, Ca. 

Along with numerous CEU courses in assessment and treatment of swallowing and swallowing disorders, I received mentorship and training in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) at UCSF Medical Center. I have attended, as well as mentored in, Susan Langmore's Foundation FEES Course in San Francisco. After honing my FEES skills and completing hundreds of exams, I completed SA Swallowing Services' Advanced FEES course. 

My primary area of focus is assessment and treatment of dysphagia, though areas of special interest include trach & vent, head & neck cancer, end of life care, and dysphagia in medically complex patients. Now that I have moved back to Sacramento, I am excited to bring the skill set of FEES to my "hometown" and all the exciting discoveries that come with it. 

Tara is the owner and chief endoscopist at Doorstep Dysphagia Diagnostics. She received her master’s degree in speech language pathology from California State University East Bay and began her career in an inpatient medical setting. During this time, she discovered her passion for swallowing disorders. Through her training and experience as a medical SLP, she has gained an understanding of the importance in using instrumentation to properly diagnose and treat swallowing disorders. After continued education and advanced training in swallowing evaluation and treatment, Tara wanted to provide patients with a way to access the gold standard in swallowing diagnostics and created the first mobile FEES business in the Bay Area.

In Tara's free time, you can find her cooking, spending time outdoors or hanging out with her urban farm of chickens, sweet pup Calvin and calico cat Cleo.

Jennifer Flexser M.S., CCC-SLP

I’m Jennifer Flexser, owner and endoscopist of LA Dysphagia Solutions and Speech Pathology. I provide mobile FEES for Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Orange counties.

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders at California State University, Los Angeles in 2011. I currently work in the acute care and outpatient settings in Los Angeles as a Medical Speech Pathologist where I perform both MBS exams (modified barium swallow) and FEES (flexible Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) as well as provide treatment for swallowing, speech and language disorders.

My areas of interest include: adult and pediatric swallowing disorders, alternative and augmentative communication, speech and swallowing treatment and management in patients with Neurodegenerative Diseases and assessment and treatment in the acute care setting.

Currently licensed in the state of California.

Kathryn Williams M.S., CCC-SLP

Kathryn Williams is a nationally certified and California state licensed speech-language pathologist with over 9 years of experience of working with patients with dysphagia in various medical settings. She is the owner, director of clinical operations, and endoscopist for NBSD.

Kathryn earned her master’s degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences at University of Oregon and her clinical science doctorate from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2020. Continued education experience has focused on advancing knowledge and skills in dysphagia and she is also an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association special interest group of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.

Avalon Scopellite M.A., CCC-SLP

Avalon Scopellite is a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of
adult populations in acute care and home health settings. She is the owner and chief Endoscopist of
SCOPE Speech-Language Pathology, a mobile FEES provider serving the greater San Diego area. Avalon
has a passion for dysphagia management and created SCOPE Speech-Language Pathology to providing
her community with access to a efficient and cost-effective option for dysphagia diagnostics
